Is North Korea closer to the “normal” way of life enjoyed by the outside world than has been portrayed? Or is it unique to the North's capital of Pyongyang? A public city bike rental system Ryomyong was launched in January, according to the Choson Sinbo, a pro-Pyongyang newspaper based in Tokyo. The outlet reported 16 Korean-Japanese delegates visiting Pyongyang rode bikes on Gwangbok Street, the first time for foreign tourists to ride the public bikes. There are currently five bike stations along Gwangbok Street.
